well there's always the problem of getting a bad team. we were forming a group for Master's Reward and had the displeasure of getting eight henchies from the foreign quarter.
we still got master's.

the ONLY thing I dislike about Factions is as some one said ...it should be renamed:
Guild Wars: The time trail
everything feels like you have to rush through or fail.
other than that I like this mission it's a blast of high action

Please tell me there are no more missions like this one? Guild Wars was not intended to have a team of 16 people together. There were too many difficulties targeting, moving and monster spikes were disasterous by the huge numbers of them [monsters].
To add insult to injury, the other team was a bunch of people who'd done the mission a bajillion times before and knew exactly where every mob was... and they didn't bother picking up drops. There were plenty of purple drops just laying on the ground assigned to them, uncollected. I wanted to scream! They were rushing along too, my team didn't even get a chance to heal up before they were on to the next mob. They were obviously pissed that they all had hit 'skip' for the cinematic and none of my team did.
There was no pleasure at all in the experience. Please, let there be no more like this.

1) Wait till you reach the Unwaking Waters mission
2) Vizunah Square and Unwaking Waters were intended to be played with 16 people contrary to what you said, and oh, its their game not ours, we dont have a say if "Guild Wars was not intended to be this and to be that".
3) If they don't picked-up the drops, umm, I don't see a problem with that, I mean, I dont see a reason why you'll get pissed about it. It's their drop, it's their loss not yours. Take 3 deep breaths and relax. There is what we call "game mechanics" in place. So whether you like their drops or not, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it, thus in other words, live with it, you loss nothing if they dont pick up their drops, be it gold, green or otherwise.
4) Now if they are rushing, its their team. WHy bother? You have your own team, you have your own style, you NEED to heal and regen. Now if the whole mission collapsed and fail, know this, it WAS NOT your fault. Obviously they dont know how to wait, obviously they dont know how to cooperate. Obviously, the best of all, they dont know the game itself. Factions' Vizunah Square and Unwaking Waters was made for 2 teams of 8, totalling to 16 players. In other words, "play together". Finally, if they want to rush, let them be! Hey if they can finish the mission by themselves isn't that good? Now if you want to enjoy the mission, do it later, at least you were able to finish the mission.
Oh, btw, the other team might be trying to get the "master's reward" that's why they are rushing.
5) If they're pissed with your team not hitting skip, so what? Let them get pissed, there's nothing they can do. You have every right to watch the cinematic, simply ignore them, dont make yourself get pissed because they're pissed. Simple right? As if there's something they can do if you dont want to skip...
Hey, look at me, I am enjoying the game. If they dont want to skip, there's nothing I can do with it. If they dont want to pick up purple gold whatever color, its not my loss. Yes I want those but is there something I can do about it?
If they love rushing, its their loss. Yes I lost time spending with a failed mission/quest, but is there something I can do about it? If I want to have a high rate of success then I'll play with my guild and our alliance or take a serious "picked" party members.
And the game is like that. Vizunah and Unwaking, they made it that way. There's nothing I can do about it so I accepted it.
It's a simple "acceptance" of what's provided for us. Because I can accept it, I am enjoying the whole game.
okay? relax. It's ANet's game. If you dont want it, hey not being harsh here, but the solution is find another game or develop your own. Right?
